Help for Stress in Loveland

man at computer holding head in both handsStress is something most of us live with every day, but what many people don’t realize is that it isn’t just a feeling. Stress has a very real, physical impact on your body. It tightens your muscles, disrupts your sleep, drains your energy, and over time can take a serious toll on your overall health. At Back To Health Chiropractic, we approach stress from the inside out, addressing what’s happening in your nervous system so your body can actually begin to recover.

How Stress Affects Your Nervous System

Every function in your body begins with a signal from your brain. When your spine is subluxated (misaligned), it creates interference in that nervous system pathway and puts your body in a state of dis-ease. That state of dis-ease triggers your stress response and lowers your ability to adapt to whatever life throws at you, whether that’s emotional pressure, a busy schedule, or physical demands.

Chronic muscle tension can make things worse by continuing to pull the spine out of alignment, creating a cycle that keeps your body stuck in stress mode.

Our Approach to Care

When you come in for your appointment, Loveland Chiropractor Dr. Derek Carroll will evaluate your spine for subluxations that may be irritating your nervous system. He’ll also assess any chronic muscle tension or imbalance contributing to the problem. Because stress affects people differently, care is always tailored to where you are right now.

For some patients, that means starting with very gentle techniques, like Activator Methods®, or addressing just a couple of the most important subluxations, so we don’t add to the stress your body is already managing. As you heal, Dr. Carroll adapts his technique to match your progress.

Depending on your needs, additional therapies such as massage, dry needling, laser therapy, or electrical stimulation may be incorporated to help shift the state of muscle tension and support your recovery.

What You Can Do at Home

Healing doesn’t stop when you leave the office. Patients are encouraged to practice deep breathing exercises, follow guided stretching routines, or incorporate prayer and meditation into their day, whatever feels right for their own belief system. In more involved cases, specific neurological exercises may be prescribed to support the work being done in the office.

A Team That Works Together for You

What truly sets Back To Health Chiropractic apart is our collaborative team of providers. Dr. Carroll’s specialized training combined with the expertise of our massage team means you’re getting a coordinated approach, not just one piece of the puzzle. We work together to help you get back to feeling like yourself again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a chiropractor really help with stress?

Yes. Chiropractic care addresses the physical side of stress by removing interference in the nervous system and relieving the muscle tension that stress creates and worsens over time.

Will my care be gentle if I’m already overwhelmed?

Absolutely. Dr. Carroll will meet you where you are. If your body is in a heightened state, care will begin with very gentle techniques and gradually progress as you start to feel better.

How long before I notice a difference?

Most patients begin noticing improvement within the first few visits, though this varies based on how long stress has been building in your body. Dr. Carroll will give you a realistic timeline at your first appointment.

Do I need a referral to be seen?

Not at all. You can call and schedule directly. We’ll take it from there.
